Lynda Hollander,


Lynda has an extensive background as a licensed nursing home administrator and healthcare advocate. With over 30 years in the health care field, her experiences include running numerous skilled nursing facilities, working with local hospice organizations and hospitals in the New Jersey area. As a nursing home administrator, Lynda was responsible for ensuring the organizations compliance with State and Federal regulations as well as meeting Advisory regulatory standards. She also was instrumental in developing policy and procedures for regulatory compliance. Her strongest assets included facilitating resident, family, physician, and staff meetings to discuss short and long-term resident goals. Lynda understands resident and family concerns placing a loved one in a long-term care setting and was always hands on in ensuring that resident satisfaction was at the forefront of care.

Lynda’s lifelong vision has been to assist those with difficult health care situations. This led her to become a Certified Healthcare Navigator through the University of Miami’s healthcare advocacy program and to obtain her master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of Cincinnati. 

As a member of the National Association of Healthcare Advocacy Consultants and a Nursing Home Administrator, currently licensed in New Jersey, Lynda now focuses on providing guided medical guidance to clients who need to navigate the complex healthcare system. Lynda recently became a Certified Dementia Practitioner.

Karen Barrack,


Karen has an extensive background as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist.  With over 25 years of experience in private and public organizations, she has provided recreational therapy to highly diverse populations in varied treatment settings.  

Karen’s exposure has ranged from a hands-on recreation therapist to supervisory and administrative positions. Karen was responsible for the creation, development, implementation, and oversight of many Alzheimer's/Dementia Units. This experience has allowed her to create a variety of prescribed programs specific to Alzheimer’s/dementia and short-term rehabilitation clients. 

Karen has developed Recreation Therapy Departments in long-term care facilities for children and adolescents with complex medical conditions whose families’ current circumstance no longer allowed them to be cared for in the home or other community settings. She has developed adult day health care programs and created in-house programs for CNA’S and volunteers to properly provide for their nursing home residents.  Karen has In-serviced nursing staff on appropriate treatment and care of their long-term care residents, taking an active role in the education and staff development of employees, trained staff in documentation, behavior management, therapeutic programming, and leadership/management skills. Her experience also includes the advancement and application of local outcome directed evaluation tools specific to Therapeutic Recreation. Karen is practiced in the development and management of clinical programs, and the establishment of Recreation Therapy treatment protocols. 

She has assisted in bringing facilities cited by the health department up to regulatory standard and has worked closely with families, physicians, nurses, rehabilitation staff, and social workers to help determine specific treatment goals that are best for their clients. Karen’s experience also includes working with clients living in the community and assisting them in finding the resources needed to stay independent. Karen has dedicated her career to ensuring that her clients receive the best possible care and attention.  

Credentials:  Karen has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Recreation Professions with a concentration in Therapeutic Recreation from Montclair State University, and a Masters of Arts in Therapeutic Recreation Administration and Services from New York University. She is certified by NCTRC - The National Council of Therapeutic Recreation Certification and a Certified Dementia Practitioner.
